Description:
Thaneco about this album: «The Face Of Antarctica” is my first attempt to write more ambient and less sequencer driven music. There are still tracks with sequencer lines and even some downtempo drum machine experimentations but overall it’s a more atmospheric album. It’s like a soundtrack to a sci-fi film and was inspired by the idea of the discovery of a lost-mysterious civilization in Antarctica. I hope you will enjoyed it!»

Artist Bio:
Thaneco (Thanos Oikonomopoulos or Ekonomopoulos) was born in Patras, Greece, in November 1975. Composer of electronic music with several different influences from the electronica of the 70s and 80s (berlin school, krautrock, downtempo).
During 1994-1998 Thaneco studied music composition and piano performance in Moravian College, Pennsylvania (U.S.A) and got the Bachelor of music.
In 2001 he released his first solo album "Psychic Images"
In 2003 he released the album "Incubation" with his band "the flow"
His later work is influenced by the electronic music of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Rudiger Lorenz, Cluster, Pete Namlook, Vangelis, John Carpenter and many other.
He is also a passionate vintage synthesizer collector and a modular synthesizer enthusiast.
Thaneco presents himself: I'm inspired by 70s & 80s electronic music and use many vintage and modern synthesizers such as the Minimoog model D (1974), Moog Sub37, SCI Prophet 5, Oberheim SEM, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Korg polysix, Roland SH-101, Roland JX-3P, Kurzweil k2vx, Yamaha DX7II, Nord Lead 4 and a custom eurorack modular synth. I'm also a big fan of software vsts and like using U-HE Zebra, Creamware Pulsar synth plugins, Spectrasonics Omnisphere and many other. Ancient Greek mythology, 80s horror films, science fiction are some of my inspirations.
